Raised on a farm by Lake Michigan’s shores, I grew up enchanted by nature’s quiet wonders and the joy of creating art. As a kid, I imagined a life where those passions could intertwine—perhaps even as an artist by the sea. Photography became my bridge, especially once I saw how light could turn fleeting scenes into lasting stories.
That curiosity bloomed in high school and carried me to Santa Barbara, where I earned a fine arts degree. There, I was pulled into fashion photography, captivated by its blend of dramatic light and vivid locations. Paris followed, offering a chance to refine my craft amid its creative pulse, deepening my love for capturing life’s essence.
Back in California, I worked in fashion and commercial photography until life’s turns—loss, injury, and a realization of time’s brevity—shifted my lens outward. Travel and adventure photography became my calling, a way to celebrate the wild and support small charities that protect it. A friend’s invitation to shoot in Antarctica introduced me to a crew of like-minded souls, and together we explored, documenting the planet’s untouched beauty while championing causes close to my heart.
Along the way, I met my partner—a talented painter—and we welcomed our daughter, who’s joined us in exploring ever since. As a family, we blend art, nature, and a quiet commitment to giving back.
